It was historic celebration in Ijede Kingdom on Thursday as His Royal Majesty, Oba Adefarasin Saheed Hassan, Ajanaku II, the, Alajede of Ijede Kingdom, observed first Isese Day Celebration as the royal with traditional stakeholders and residents of Ijede.
Oba Adefarasin, during the celebration was conferred with the Life Patron Award by the Association of African Traditional Religion of Nigeria and Overseas (AATREN), Ijede LCDA Chapter.
The royal father was joined at the memorable occasion by his wife, Olori Amope Hassan, son, Prince Gbemisola Hassan, members of the Alajede -in- Council, and other dignitaries, whose presence added grace to the celebration of cultural and traditional heritage.

At the colourful traditional ceremony held at the Alajede Palace were prayers for peace, unity, and prosperity in Ijede Kingdom, Ikorodu Division, Lagos State, across Yorubaland and Nigeria, as a whole. There were also displays by different masquerades and groups.
Speaking with THE IMPACT after the ceremony, Oba Adefarasin said that the annual celebration is to honour ancestors and preserve cultural values.

”During the Isese Day, we honour the path of our ancestors and celebrate the enduring heritage of the Yoruba people. Isese is a reminder that our customs, values, and traditions remain the foundation of our identity and the pride of our people.”
Alajede thanked AATREM for organising the colourful Isese Day and the support he has been receiving since his ascension on the throne of his ancestors.
The royal father who also commended residents of Ijede for trooping out in late number in appreciation of their cultural and traditional heritage, urged them to continue to protect them and support the traditional institutions in their preservation.
